Style Me Swanky has moved! + Shopbop Friends and Fam Picks!

Hello! Style Me Swanky has moved to holycitychic.com. All old blog posts are there on the new blog! Check out the post you see below in its new home.

When I say that this is the greatest time of year, I'm definitely not fabricating the situation. It's the Shopbop Friends and Family sale. (ah! cue the angels.) That means you can take 25% off your entire purchase. As I always do, I've narrowed down my absolute favorites from the sale and I'm sharing those with all of you.

The sale started this morning and ends on Thursday, October 16th at 11:59pm. Use code FAMILY25 to save 25% off.
1. This Rebecca Minkoff bag is the ultimate fall bag for me. It also comes in taupe!

2. They've been around the block, but Karen Walker can do no wrong with these shades (Especially useful for those like me who have been running short on sleep and constantly need to cover sleepy eyes!).

3. Will ya just imagine the endless layering possibilities with this Rag & Bone top?

4. If you're willing to invest, you'd be smart to do so in a beautiful sweater like this Vince Shawl Cardigan. It would stick around for years in your closet.

5. I'm showing the back, but the front of this dress is pretty special too.

6. And this dress. This dress just screams fall and I love it.

7. These stud earrings could easily be an everyday piece. Not too big, not too small. Same goes for this necklace and this amazing watch. (I love a good leather band.)

8. Going along with my current colored denim obsession... these totally fit the bill.

9. BB Dakota does it again. They brought us a great leather jacket (this one is 100% lambskin) for the most reasonable price. Comes in taupe, too!

10. A great pair of classic skinny jeans is an absolute must.

11. And those jeans? Perfectly paired with this blouse.

Now's also a great time to start Christmas shopping early. This adorable Kate Spade pen would be the perfect stocking stuffer for any business savvy woman. And this Rebecca Minkoff Tech Wallet is way chic and super convenient for being on the go. And how meaningful would this initial necklace be to give - either with a child's initials on it or her own? Oh, and these stackable rings!

I've included everything listed above, plus a few more finds below. Have fun shopping!

easy like monday morning | outfit post

jeans  |  top (similar)  |  blazer (similar: here and here)  |  shoes (similar)  |  bag (similar)  |  sunglasses  |  watch  |  lipstick (in #99)

I have no clue why I named this post what I did because Monday's are far from easy, but it's all that could come to my mind. This is one of those outfits that's easy and casual, but when worn with heels and a blazer, they pull it together, making it "office casual" or perfect for grabbing happy hour with girlfriends.

I literally ordered a bevy of jeans from Nordstrom. I mentioned on here last week that their selection is great (and return policy is equally so), so I took advantage and ordered quite a few styles and chose my two favorites. I really love these Genetic "Alexa" Skinny Boyfriend Jeans. I already own some similar to this, but they don't have the great distressing that these have and mine have more of a slouchy look, so these are totally different - right? ;) And really, can one ever own too many pairs of jeans? I think not.

When you've got a great foundation, like an awesome pair of denim, the rest of the outfit can be simple. I threw on a white top, an understated bag and shoes, and a bright blazer and was good to go. Oh, and a red lip! This one in shade #99 is my newest favorite.

P.S. Holy City Chic is coming tomorrow! Same blog, new name. Stylemeswankyblog.com will forward to the new URL, holycitychic.com. See ya then!

Big thanks to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post. Big thanks to YOU for supporting the brands that support this blog.

things i love

Things I love (all are 20% off with code FALL20): this Rebecca Taylor Metallic Sweater, this beautiful Vince Turtleneck (with winter white jeans? oh yes.), this incredibly cozy LA Made Cocoon Cardigan, this olive Moto Vest, this denim jacket, this chic Cooper & Ella Blouse, this perfect layering top, this Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Double Layer Top, my favorite denim, this shift dress, and this beautiful berry skirt.

Save 20% off these items and more with code FALL20.

fall is here | style

jeans  |  denim jacket (similar)  |  top (similar)  |  flats (similar reva's here and here)  |  bag  |  scarf (similar) |  watch  |  bracelet  |  sunglasses

Let me start off with the most important thing first. These denim pants by Genetic feel like pajamas. Truly, they do. I don't know, they might feel better than the pajamas I own, but yet they still offer the same support that heavy denim does. I scooped them up at Nordstrom and have really been loving them. Colored jeans are my favorite go-to piece for fall because they can completely pull a look together like nobody's business, but you barely have to try. The jeans do it for you. There's a great selection of colored denim at Nordstrom right now and while I'm terrible with decisions, I'm really glad I picked these.

Brandon and I went to Greenville and Clemson this past weekend. This outfit was perfect for walking around downtown Greenville on Friday. The weather was pretty rainy and chilly, so I just threw my hair on top of my head and put on my first warm outfit of the season. I couldn't believe how cold it got this weekend! Seriously, the temps were in the 80s on Thursday and in the 50s by Saturday. Ready for summer again already! Ok, maybe not quite yet, but talk about a harsh reality. I'll share more pics from the weekend tomorrow!

This post was sponsored by Nordstrom, but all opinions and outfit choices are completely my own!

current favorites

1. Cle de Peau Beaute Eye Color Quad in "Baby Universe": This is by far the most beautiful set of eye shadows I own. The colors are incredibly unique (I don't have anything else like it.) and would flatter any skin tone. What I love most about this set is the lighter colors are perfect for day, but it's easy to turn any eye look into a more dramatic one with the two darker colors included in the palette. The pigments are rich and the texture of these shadows is unreal! Saying they are "silky" just doesn't do it justice. I also love the quad in "Silver Eclipse" if you like cooler tones. Side note: The beautiful compact case is sold separately.

2. This myrtle wreath is perfect. I don't know the source, but I may take a stab at a DIY version.

3. Horchow Geometric Pendant Light: I don't own this, but I've been eyeing it like crazy. Love the mix of metal and fabric and I bet it creates the most beautiful glow on walls.

4. Want to know about the best curling rod ever? Seriously ever. The Sultra The Bombshell 1" Curling Rod.

5. Brandon and I switched to silk pillowcases because of the many benefits they offer. We each have a restoreSILK pillow case in "Whisper White." Now he wants silk sheets, I kid you not. We'll stick with cotton sheets, but this pillow case is amazing. It's made of 100% mulberry silk and I absolutely cannot wait to lay my head on it every night.

6. This leather moto jacket is gorgeous. Enough said. The reviews are stellar and the price isn't half bad considering it's real leather.

Holy City Chic is coming.... soon! Sorry for the delay. I'm apparently not as tech-savvy as I thought. The website will be holycitychic.com.

spotted: fall styles

I randomly stumbled into Old Navy last weekend looking for a utility vest and became distracted by some great pieces. They didn't end up having the vest, so I hurried home in hopes that it would be available online (wasn't. ugh!). Thought I'd share some of the great items I spotted in the store. If you're looking for fall styles at inexpensive prices, I'd highly recommend starting with these!

Oh, and I've got to give honorable mention to these loafers!

my picks | bloomingdale's sale

Bloomingdale's is having a sale event where you can save up to $100 off, making it a great time to stock up on fall pieces. All you have to do is become a "loyalist," if you aren't already, which is easy and free to sign up for. Take $25 off $100 or more, $50 off $250 or more, $100 off $500 or more, and $250 off $1,000 or more. No code required, you just need to enter your loyalist ID.

Now to the important part! A great Barbour jacket never goes out of style. This one has a feminine cut and could even be worn over a dress with tights and boots. And as for this twill jacket with leather sleeves... it's perfect for day or night. Oh, and these sateen skinnies are just the best color.

I can see myself wearing this skirt with so much, right through spring. What a great silhouette. And this sweater and this one, tooso perfect for the changing seasons. As for jackets, please tell me what's more classic than a Burberry trench? The buttons and color are perfect. Also, I marked a few tops that are wonderful for layering or worn alonethis one, this one, and this one

Oh, you bet there are a few bag obsessions... a couple crossbody ones (here and here [drool!]) and this great pouch. Finally, on the shoes front... a perfect pair of loafers, a stunning set of tall boots, and these (I think I could live in them.).

Here are all of those options, plus more that I've picked out!

weekend wear

shirt  |  shorts  |  sandals  |  bag  |  sunglasses (similar: here and here)  |  watch  |  bracelets

To me, this is the perfect weekend uniform. A blend of comfort and style, high end and low, and neutrals with a pop of bright sunny day.

current fashion favorites

Lots of new favorites on the clothing front and what fun would it be if I didn't share, right? Ok, so first up to bat is the J. Crew Regent Blazer. It's a new style this year and I'm seriously digging it. The high color is such a classic look and the overall fit is slimming. This is an ultimate closet staple for me... my favorite blazer to date. I have it in black, but I'm showing it in "warm camel" because it shows the detail better. Plan on wearing it with a simple white t-shirt, skinny jeans, my transport tote, and my new favorite ankle wedge boots (we're getting to that next!).

I am a size 2 in this blazer, for reference. Gah, the warm camel color is awesome, too.

These MacAlister Wedge Boots have been around for quite a while, but I just finally bit the bullet. They aren't going out of style anytime soon. I needed a new pair of ankle boots and really love the relaxed style of these. The quality of J. Crew shoes is spot on, so I knew they were worth the investment (ditto for the blazer!). For sizing reference, I am usually an 8.5 (sometimes a 9 depending on brand) and I went with a 9 in these.

This orange romper will be perfect for the next Clemson game. I plan on wearing it with a denim jacket throughout fall. It's in the petite section, but a size 6 worked perfect for me (Remember ASOS sizing runs small!).

Loving this metallic tank for layering under blazers (like the one coming up next!).

This blazer is my new jam. I ordered a size 6, but am almost thinking I could have taken a 4 in it. The color is great for any season and it can be dressed up or down. Super versatile.

I'm absolutely crazy over this woven t-shirt with sheer overlay. It's better in person and looks like it's worth way more than the price. Going to wear it with a chunky gold chain statement necklace, black denim, and ankle booties. I might have to go back for the nude color.

Now this one is a must. This textured top comes in a bunch of different colors, but I chose cream. It's feminine and trendy at the same time. Obsessed.

blue

This dress is one of the most beautiful shades of blue I've ever seen. It reminds me of the Caribbean. Not that I get these experiences very often, but you know when you're flying in an airplane and you finally get to that point during your trip where you can spot the crystal clear, Caribbean water? It's that color.
It's the A.L.C. "Miki" Knit Dress and it's all kinds of wonderful. It's sporty, yet refined. Even though it's knit, the material is thicker, which I love. That, paired with it's prominent seams, keeps it structured.

I bought mine from Nordstrom, which is where I've done most of my recent shopping. The selection is just so spot on and I can always count on finding new styles that I don't see in other stores. Plus, the free shipping and returns are my best friend since we don't have an actual store anywhere in SC.
I paired the dress with a Rag & Bone Blazer. The blazer makes this look office official. By removing it, I'm ready for a wedding, church, or a nice event. Super versatile.

To accessorize, this outfit didn't need much. I decided to wear a chunky chain to keep the look contemporary. Added a few bangles and that was pretty much it.

By the way, because I'm sure you're wondering...ha! I got my hair done late last week, just after these pictures were taken. Hallelujah! I thought I'd try out the natural, grown out look. But that's just not me. Short, blonde hair now.
