trolling craigslist

This post might be more valuable for people here in the SC lowcountry, but you all might find it interesting? Since we are under contract for our home, my wheels have been spinning nonstop for design ideas and new furniture we'll need. This is so fun. Craigslist is such a great place to find interesting pieces at great price points (but please, if you use Craigslist, be smart, always have someone with you, and stick to cash transactions). Here are some awesome things I found on the 'list over the weekend that I would love to own.. Quite a few need some TLC, but that's what makes it your own.

I actually don't mind the dusty rose velour seats, but can imagine these with great printed fabric and a fun paint color. I love chairs. It's a bad obsession. I think I would have a home full of chairs if Brandon didn't stop me.

Sorry for the small photos, but how great is this piece? It's originally from Celadon, so you know it's good quality and extremely unique. I'd love to have those drawers (great storage for little things!) and would love to stack those shelves with beautiful books. I love the color, too.

Well, you can't beat that price. I saw a similar mirror in a store in Beaufort for $200. I'd love to whitewash this and prop it up behind a dresser.

Swoon. Recently recovered with new fabric. Talk about great condition.

So it looks like this guy needs a good sanding and a new coat or so of stain,  but for $350, I'll take it! I know Brandon could make this table for me in a weekend, but honestly, when you can find one for this price, I'd much rather pay for one that's already made then have him spend all that time.

Ah! I just love this. The claw feet, antique pull, and gorgeous wood are show stoppers. Such character. I would love to have this to put shoes in it. Yes, shoes. I mean ...or china.

Brandon and I have a Drexel Heritage king bed and I've been eyeing this daybed! It would be perfect to set up in a nursery or in a home office so that it could be used for seating or for guests to spend the night. Love.

Have you found any treasures on Craigslist recently?

  1. Wow!! These are all unbelievable Craigslist finds... I'm so impressed. I'm in love with that antique china {shoe} cabinet and the set of bamboo chairs, but all of them are incredible! I can't wait to see what you decide on and hope things are getting better on the house hunt!!!

    1. Oh, I didn't buy all of these! Just "window shopping!" I probably didn't make that clear enough! I just love it all!

  3. I, too, have a Craigslist obsession. I have been recently sucked into finding the perfect chinoiserie chest in the Raleigh area. Amazingly enough, I have my eye on a few: East Meets South Blogt
