weekend

We are officially in the dog days of summer. This weekend was, by far, the hottest of the year so far at over 100 degrees. So we tried to do as much as possible to stay cool, including boat days and swimming in the pool. Brandon and I headed out to a flat on the Broad River and I caught this red fish. One and done, son. After I caught that I decided it was too hot and we needed to get back on the boat. There was literally no wind—miserable! I let the fish swim, by the way.

Wore this shirt dress by ASOS. It's incredibly comfortable and the price is right.

Brandon and I got lunch at Plums on Saturday. Their shrimp salad roll is heavenly. If you're in Beaufort, you should definitely check out Plums. It's my favorite for lunch, especially when the weather is pretty and you can sit out on the porch overlooking the Waterfront. (We immediately regretted sitting outside in the scorching heat, but it definitely was pretty.)

I went on an evening walk that night. It had just rained, which cooled it off a good bit. The sunset was gorgeous, so I had to put my Michael Franti playlist on pause to snap a pic.

Ah! And Sunday. So much more pleasant temperatures. Seriously beautiful outside.
I picked up this faux bamboo chippendale mirror that I purchased earlier last week from a refurbished home decor store. Can't wait to paint it white and find the perfect place for it...in our new home in Charleston! Just have to find it first. ;)

  3. That mirror is a great find! It was a scorcher in Wilmington, too. Sunday night it finally cooled off and felt like fall. There are only so many ways to "beat the heat" when you live in the south. Happy Monday!

  6. Love that asos dress! How is the sizing? Even though its listed as a "t-shirt" dress it looks like you were able to dress it up. Think it would be appropriate for a baby shower? Thanks!! :)

    1. Hi Rachel! I tried to email you when I received notification of your comment, but then later realized you don't have your email address linked on Blogger- so it never got to you! So sorry!! I am wearing a size 6, but I feel like I could take a 4 if I had to. I appreciate the extra room, though!
