scenes from my weekend

A sweet surprise from Brandon.

I'm not going to lie.  I ate FOUR doughnuts this weekend!  In my defense, I moved furniture/boxes for about 15 hours total this weekend.  Couldn't let my sugar get low. ;)
By the way, it's true.  Krispy Kreme really is a heck of a lot better than Dunkin Donuts.  Mmm!

Yes, I talked him into getting a pedi with me :)

In love with this color ...Essie Tangerine

Why not decorate the closet a little?

Bella Sera ...great inexpensive pinot!

I just love this song.  Michael Buble station on Pandora makes moving/organizing a lot more bearable.

No, I didn't drink these ...but will ya take a look at these drinks?  I saw the bartender put at least four different kinds of liqueur in these, then dropped a red bull into each one.  Yikes!

Brandon found this photo of himself when he was putting a photo into an old frame.  I seriously can't get enough of those little dimples and his tiny fist under his chin ...and the jacket/bow tie combo!  I hope we have a son one day and that he will look exactly like this!

I picked out my veil and dress accessories this weekend!  Got to try on my dress' "sister" (the sample of my dress was requested for a photo shoot in NYC, so it sadly wasn't there!) with the bells & whistles.  It was tax-free weekend in SC, so I got to pay off my dress & get all the accessories with no tax added!  Score!

Starting a list of goals for the week.  I heart anything written in gold ink.  :)

This weekend was a lot of moving & running around like crazy.  I'm getting settled into my new place and trying to get pictures on the walls, etc.  I will share the final product from my table staining adventure tomorrow!  I think it turned out very well & am proud of my first (and possibly ONLY, ever) attempt at refinishing a table.  It's a lot more work than it seems!
Even with moving and little sleep this past weekend, I am feeling surprisingly refreshed for the week ahead!  It's going to be another busy one.  My birthday is Friday, so I've got a lot of upcoming plans with friends and family.  The PGA championship is this weekend.  Cake tasting on Friday.  Lots of fun things to look forward to this week!  Bring it, Monday. ;)

  1. I'm loving that Essie Tangerine! I will have to give it a try... but the main reason for my comment is that I must know what that little note holder contraption is where you wrote about the perfect dress?! That is the cutest little thing and I want it! haha I love to keep notes and birthday cards but bulletin boards can be so boring sometimes. Do tell ma'am!

  3. Ah! I just found your blog and I feel mildly strange because we are practically twins. From the black quatrefoil pillows (they're on my couch). To the gray and cream interior obsession (hello, my bedroom). To the Essie Tangerine (current pedicure). To living in Charleston (planning a move there in the next couple years). I was even THISCLOSE to ordering my wedding dress from Modern Trousseau. Seriously! I love you/your blog already, so glad I found it!

    1. Thank you! I most recently went to Aqua, which is on King Street next to the Francis Marion Hotel. They are fantastic! However, I'm also partial to East Bay Nail Salon, which is downtown as well. They have won "Best of Charleston" awards consecutively for the past few years or so. Both are fantastic options!

  15. I talked my husband into getting a pedi with me once. He loved it, until someone we knew walked in. I think he was little embarrassed! :]
