weekend

Thought I'd catch you up on last weekend's festivities. I mentioned yesterday that we went to Greenville and Clemson to stay with friends and go to the Clemson football game. But I'm going to start this weekend post with Thursday because we didn't work on Friday. Got to love long weekends, but it does make Monday sting a little more.

So Thursday afternoon after work I trolled around a couple Charleston favorites...

Encore Interiors is a consignment shop chock-full of furniture, odds, and ends.

I also spent a lot of time perusing GDC Home. I really wish I could go wild in there. Who remembers that TV game show where kids would run through a fake store and grab all the items they possibly could in a limited amount of time? Yeah. That's what I wish I could do in GDC.

Then I went to happy hour with some friends from work (It was a pretty great afternoon.). Edmund's Oast did not disappoint. If you're in Charleston, check it out. I'm dying to go back already.

B and I went to Greenville later that night. Spent Friday walking around downtown. I really love Greenville. We've always said that if we couldn't live on the coast of SC, we'd high tail it up to G-Vegas (That's Greenville, by the way.)

This is my best grumpy cat impression.

Candy. On candy. On candy...at Mast General Store.
and wine. On wine. On wine...at SIP Rooftop.

The folks who took this photo for us asked if we were on our honeymoon, ha!

And Saturday... went to see Clemson dominate! The weather was beyond perfect.

It was a great weekend. But on a personal note, two of our dearest friends are going through a tough time. If you pray, please keep their family in your prayers. Even though you probably don't know them, I know they'll feel your prayers. xo

birthday weekend

I usually have pretty low key birthdays, but this one was quite the exception. I didn't know that was going to be the case, though! Let's just start with Thursday because I've been a pretty sorry blogger lately (more on that soon) and haven't been updating you very much recently.

We got to celebrate the engagement of our two good friends on Thursday evening. It was so sweet! He proposed up in the air of our friend's dad's plane. We were at the airplane hangar waiting for them to land... champagne in hand, obviously.

This is my favorite plane (wearing this dress).
Some of the friends and family waiting for them to land in the hangar...
 Here they are!

My mom and I went to Charleston on Friday morning to have a girls day. We did what we do best. Shopped, ate, and got our nails/toes done. The fried green tomato BLT + She Crab Soup at Virginia's is one of my all time favorite combinations. (Oh, and don't worry, I had the other half of this sandwich in my right hand while taking this picture. No food was sacrificed!)

After our mani/pedi appointment, Brandon picked me up from the salon and Mom went home. I thought Brandon and I were going to stay at our friends house for the night, but instead he surprised me with a stay at Charleston Place! The hotel has been going through room renovations and the end result is stunning. I mean, look at this room, y'all.
Couldn't help but do a mirror selfie. #noshame

The plan, or so I thought, was for Brandon and me to go to dinner somewhere downtown. He wouldn't tell me where, just that I needed to be ready to go at 8:15. We went downstairs and Brandon asked how I wanted to get to dinner... rickshaw, walk, taxi? Then we walked right next to this giant party bus that was outside the hotel and Brandon said, "Or do you want to take this to dinner?" The next thing I knew, the driver opened the door and ten of my favorite friends were in the party bus ready to surprise me with "Hey shorty, it's your birthday!" blaring through the speakers. It was the coolest surprise ever. They know how to make a girl feel special.

Here's a video showing the surprise! I wish I had a video of THEM in the bus surprising me!

On Saturday, we hurried up to Charlotte for a wedding. (We were all over the place this weekend!) I do not have one single photo from the wedding on my phone! The couple asked that we not take photos with our phones (which I think is an awesome idea to all those future brides - that way your professional photos don't show people on their phones in the background!). We came all the way home to Beaufort on Saturday night/Sunday morning and let's just say we.were.exhausted

My actual birthday was yesterday, so Sunday started out with being woken up with toast and coffee in bed. This is how all birthdays should be, right?

We then went to my parents' house for lunch and cake! This cake was too pretty to eat, but that didn't stop us.

And this is how Winston feels about it being Monday already.

Happy week to all of you! xo

weekend

Hello! Ahh.. Monday already. This weekend went by too quickly. I really don't know were it went. On Friday night Brandon and I enjoyed First Friday in our neighborhood. There was great entertainment, food, drinks, and lots of fun in the Marketplace. The weather was perfect and it was just a great way to end the week.

On Saturday, we went to Charleston so that we (really, just me, if we're being honest) could do a little shopping on King. It was tax free weekend, so I used that to justify a little retail therapy. I scooped up this denim jacket, this incredibly comfortable courier shirt,  the belt every girl needs, a pair of Rich and Skinny Legacy Jeans at an amazing steal, the best classic white popover, and a few new finds from Lululemon (this, this, and -did someone say mesh? ahh yes, these!).

My little mexican food-loving heart was happy after stopping by Mex 1 for dinner. Their bangin' shrimp tacos are a slice of Heaven. If you're in Charleston, you've got to try them.

Winston and I took a little drive over to my parents' house on Sunday. He likes to ride in the car, but prefers to have a tote bag to sit in. What a little #divo.

Last night, I sampled Beauty Counter products that were sent to me by the lovely (and ever so inspiring) Christi at One Year Wardrobe Resolution. Christi recently started selling these products because she feels passionate about the non-toxic ingredients and how wonderful they are for your skin. (You can view her BC website here.) Anyone ever tried this line before? I am loving these products after just trying them just once (They have the strictest ingredient selection process in the industry, so that's a lot to love right there.).

Hope y'all had happy a weekend!

weekend

I started out the weekend visiting the grand opening of the new TINA Stephens store on King Street.
The store was filled with lots of pretties. That floor, y'all.
I picked out this Lattice Dress, which, like all of the Tees by Tina pieces, is one size fits most. The material is super stretchy, but supporting at the same time. So comfortable!

Saw these church window mirrors at Southern Accents and fell in love.

A little later on, I met up with some girlfriends at Pearlz for happy hour.

...which later turned into wine night and stealing Ryan's husband's hats. Random dance parties are our specialty.
We had to send him a picture in his hats, which he loved, by the way.

The rest of the weekend was spent on the go. By the way, these Perrier Pink Grapefruit drinks are my new favorite.
Brandon and I went to Savannah and I followed him around in Bass Pro Shops. You can just tell how enthused I was. I'm not a good sport like he is when he shops with me.
By the way, the tee I'm wearing is my newest obsession. It's by Vince and is on crazy good sale at Saks Off Fifth. I'm wearing a medium.
