Hello! I'm still on my summer-to-fall transition kick. My mind is constantly spinning and trying to come up with new, fresh ways to look fall appropriate, while being comfortable in scorching temperatures. Ah, ok! So this look. This floral chiffon jacket had me at... well, floral chiffon. Throw it over a neutral tank and a pair of relaxed, distressed denim shorts and you're instantly going to look pulled together. Depending on the weather, you may opt for a pair of sandals, but these booties are just screaming my name. They're a classic and sure to last you season after season.

With an outfit so neutral, it's always fun to add a pop of color by pairing it with a colorful bag. And what says "carefree" more than a mini crossbody bag? (If you don't like poppy red, try a bag in ink blue since that color is huge for fall!) To finish off the look, I don't think you can go wrong with a delicate set of earrings that still are able to make a statement, like these rose gold drop earrings. Oh yes, cat eye sunnies. They are always in my bag and these are fantastic.

These are all investment items that will stay in your closet for years to come, but you can definitely pair one or two of these items with less expensive things. Mixing and matching high and low is pretty much the name of the game in my closet.

  1. If only I could wear jean shorts to work. I really do feel like they're the best transitional piece. Jean shorts, booties, sweater, and a felt floppy hat. My ideal early fall look.
