weekend

This weekend was fun-filled, exhausting, random, and went by terribly too fast. We (well, I) had a bridal shower to attend in Greenville on Saturday. Brandon came too and hung out with the groom-to-be while us gals drank champagne punch and showered the bride with gifts. After the shower, we figured, well - we're already in the upstate, let's just head up to Charlotte for the night. So that's what we did.
There were really just two things on the agenda - shopping at South Park and scouting out a fiddle leaf fig. I swear nowhere in Beaufort/Hilton Head sells them and I've been wanting one for the longest time - years. Anyway, I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking (it's now going on 2am and I'm at the point between delirium and exhaustion, so I could very well keep on rambling or fall asleep at any given moment.).

Oh yes, I started my weekend off with a mani/pedi, thanks to a Christmas gift certificate from the in-laws that I've been dying to use. I'm a huge fan of this color, "Shorts Story" by OPI. It's the perfect cool toned pink, although I actually thought it was purple when I picked it out at the salon (changes in lighting a lot!).

Here's the bride and groom (to be) after the bridal shower had wrapped up. The wedding-themed minnie & mickey ears were a joke, so we obviously made them try them on!

A little Sephora haul. We don't have one in our area, so I always feel like I could spend hours in there when I actually get to a real Sephora store (as opposed to the little JC Penney pop-up shops). Oh wait, I did spend hours in there. I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket.
Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard, Smashbox Eyeshadow Trio in "Multi Flash", Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil, Benefit Lollitint, Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat, Buxom Lip Polish in "Leslie", Dior Nude Foundation in 31, and Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in Light.

...and a new Kate Spade addition. (so in love with these pumps - they fit true to size!)

Now for round two (or maybe it's three, actually) of the great big adventure. The fiddle leaf fig, which the husband just happened to track down through a google search while I was in Neimans trying on shoes.

Thank you, Pike Nursery! Thanks to you, we now have two fiddle leaf figs back in Beaufort (one small and one large ...and yes, it's large). Getting this giant plant into my very small car was quite the feat. We should have planned better and taken Brandon's truck, but we really weren't planning on finding a plant, especially one so huge. But where there's a will, there's a way, and I wasn't leaving this baby in Charlotte. So, I kindly observed as Brandon and three employees tried every which way to get the FLF tree in the car. Not happening. Not to mention, the wind was blowing so hard that the plants kept tipping over, which in turn caused me to have large amounts of anxiety. I swear, it was blowing so hard that things were flying out of my car like a cyclone and yes, my hair was all in my lip gloss. Which, by the way, is my all time biggest uncomfortable feeling aside from having unclean hands.
In summary, we wrapped the tall plant in paper, which allowed it to be slid in from the trunk, through the middle seat, and right in between my head and Brandon's. Finally. It was in there.

See above? That was my view the entire four hours home. The tip of the tree curved inwards into the middle of my headrest, so I couldn't even lay my head back on the seat the entire time.
I digress. I now have a fiddle leaf fig, so this means just one thing...
#missionaccomplished (and I got new shoes!).

  5. I just scored a fiddle leaf fig at IKEA - I was shocked at the price! It is much smaller than yours, but was exactly what I was looking for and the price was right (I had found a similar one at Lowe's in Chapel Hill for $30).
