weekend

Savannah treated us well this past weekend.  Aside from the fact that it was absolutely bone chilling cold, we managed to cram a lot of happy memories into just two days.  We started off on Saturday with lunch at Vic's on the River.  I'd highly recommend this place if you've never been.  Perfect lunch spot since the views of the river are so wonderful and you would miss that at night.  We opted to sit at the bar near the pianist.  I had to order a glass of wine with lunch (when in Rome?).  Really don't think I've ever done that before but I've always thought women who have a glass of wine with their lunch look so lovely.  Just felt right.
Ok, it's been decided...  their fried green tomato BLT with goat cheese is life changing.

We stayed at The Andaz and it was so wonderful.  Our room had a gorgeous view of Ellis Square... and it had very large lamps.
That's our hotel behind me.

We shopped around on Broughton and I snapped a few photos of things worth remembering.  Brandon loved this "manly armoire," as he called it.  I agree, it was beautiful.
Not really my style, but I thought this ottoman (or ottomans?) were worth capturing.
This napkin ring is made out of a gold painted oyster shell with wire circling underneath it.  There may be a DIY project on the horizon...
This was the view from our hotel balcony.

Saturday night we got spiffed up for dinner at The Olde Pink House.  Beforehand, we had drinks at the bar in our hotel.  I was so impressed with the craftiness of these cocktails (did you check out the fire video on my instagram?).  Thanks to those who recommended the candied bacon at the bar - amazing!  The hotel bar was by far my favorite food/bev spot we visited in Savannah (who would've thought?).

I hate to say that dinner at The Olde Pink House was very disappointing.  The food was mediocre and our service was less than.  We did, however, enjoy the entertainment downstairs after dinner.  Such a cozy spot and we loved learning about the rich history of the building.

I wore a Rebecca Taylor dress (sold out, but this gorgeous dress has a similar print), an old leather jacket from Express (similar and just marked down 50% off!), an Asos belt, Nine West booties (similar), and a Wink & Winn crossbody bag.

And what would an amazing hotel be without offering an amazing brunch on Sunday morning?
...it had us at "build your own breakfast pizza."

  4. that hotel brunch looks amazing. quite the setup! and i agree-- a woman holding a glass of wine is just classy, regardless of what meal it is. ok wait - maybe not a meal at 4 am when a woman is plowing over some late night pizza...but you get what i'm saying. haha

  6. I just LOVE Vic's!!! We also had a mediocre experience at The Olde Pink House last year - its a "landmark" but the food is not worth it! Going to have to check your hotel out - it looks amazing!

  7. Ah! I just blogged about fried green tomatoes today and even topped them with goat cheese despite my husband's disliking haha. What a coincidence :) He thought I was crazy for adding goat cheese, but that sandwich proves him wrong. It sounds amazing. And I love those oyster napkin rings. I don't even really care for oysters but those are too cute!
