monograms and mimosas bridal shower

This past weekend, my mom, mother-in-law, and I hosted a bridal shower for my MOH (I'm a matron of honor in her wedding!).  It was a rainy, so it was a perfect day to spend indoors celebrating the bride-to-be.  Of course, I forgot my DSLR camera, so I didn't get the photos that I wish I had.  But thanks to my MIL, I was able to capture some on her little pocket camera.

Here's the bride and her sweet mom!  I made the chalkboard out of a framed portrait that Brandon accidentally dropped about two months ago.  The glass shattered, so I repurposed it!  Just got a bottle of chalkboard paint, some gold spray paint, and went to town.  This frame used to be dark brown.... quite the transformation!

The food!  We had dijon ham rolls, buffalo chicken dip, chicken salad croissants, pimento cheese crostinis, cucumber cups with hummus, grape salad, deviled eggs, and red velvet cake with buttercream icing!
We also served sweet tea and cucumber water.
....annnd mimosas! Here are some photos of the "bubbly bar."
We put the different juice mixers in decanters.  I loved the look!

Here are the favors... "He Popped the Question!"
I found these little popcorn boxes here.

We played the typically known "shoe game," except I modified it for a bridal shower.  I asked the groom-to-be the questions beforehand, then asked Ryan the same questions at the shower.  She had to hold up the photo of who she thought fit the description the best.  We compared her answers with her fiance's.  For example...  "Who is more likely to trip during the first dance?"  (They both chose Whit!)  It was so cute!

We also passed around "Bridal Libs," which was hysterical.  I found the template here and customized it to suite our bride, Ryan.  I had the mother of the bride and mother of the groom read each person's mad libs story when the bride was opening that person's gift.
Since the shower was themed "Monograms and Mimosas," all of her gifts were monogrammed with their new initials.

I followed a tutorial on how to make your own tissue poms here and made the banner myself using a Word document!  Do you see the monogram that is framed on the mantel?  I found the monogram generator here and just printed it out at home!

I created a lot of my signs using myfonts.com.  Instead of purchasing the fonts, I sort of cheated the system by typing the word I needed into the preview screen, then did a screen shot of the preview.  I then pasted the screen shot into Word and printed it out!  I did this for the framed sign by the favors, the sign by the cake (not pictured), the mimosas sign, the gift sign (shown below), and also for the food nameplates, which I unfortunately forgot to set out.  Ugh!
The bride-to-be and me at the end of the day!
