one last fling

On a whim, Brandon and I decided to visit my brother in Myrtle Beach for Labor Day weekend.  It's such a bittersweet holiday.  I love summer, but I'm really looking forward to a change of wardrobe, crisp cool weather,  and duh, PSL (pumpkin spice lattes).  We had a great last go at Summer 2012.  Here's proof.

Heading to MB on Saturday morning...

First thing, we stopped at Market Commons for lunch.

Then later on, we watched the first half of the Clemson game at the Coastal Ale House (--my friends and I frequented this place OFTEN when I was a student at Coastal.  It was fun going back!).
Saturday night, we went out at Broadway, which is another old stomping ground.  Always a fun time and I got to see a ton of college friends.

My friend, Josh, of the Josh Brannon Band, performed at one of the Broadway bars.  Loved seeing him do his thing!

Sunday was an all day boat day.  I'm talking noon until 11pm.  Brandon and I were giddy excited to see one of our favorite musicians, Trevor Hall, play at The Boathouse.
He is from Hilton Head (near where I'm from) and our dad's know each other, which is an obvious plus, but I would be just as obsessed with him if that wasn't the case.
Listening to Trevor puts you in a different place.  He sings straight from his soul and it's incredibly inspiring.  He's very spiritual and doesn't smoke or drink alcohol.  You can literally feel his passion vibrating through your ears.  Just makes you want to close your eyes and sway back and forth ...which is exactly what we did --with our bathing suits on, bare feet on the grassy lawn, and sun-kissed shoulders.  I'm really not a country music or rap/hip hop girl.  This is my jam.

Here are some favorites.

And back to reality in Charleston... a much needed run.
