We visited North Myrtle Beach this past weekend for SOS (Society of Stranders). We went last year, too, so feel free to catch up on that post here! For those of you (probably most of you) that aren't familiar with SOS, it's a shag dance festival. The "shag" is our state dance & we've been taking lessons for almost a year.
We stayed in a condo with Brandon's parents and their good friends., Ginger and Dave.
It had the best views of the ocean!
Here are some iPhone photos from our weekend...
When we got to the condo, these flowers were there to surprise me.
Obviously the florist isn't the best at spelling!
We danced a lot,
ate VERY poorly...
Brandon's lunch on Saturday. Yes, that is a burger in between two grilled cheeses. He saw it on the menu on Friday and passed, but continued to think about it until the next day. So we went back so that he could try it!
We enjoyed the SOS parade on Saturday! This was a HUGE parade -almost two hours long!
Brandon's parents' shag club was the last part of the parade.
On Sunday, we walked around in some little beach shops, got brunch, and then hit the road back to Charleston.
I was pleasantly surprised to have received these earrings from the lovely Erin when I got home! These earrings are seriously adorable. You can order from Erin's Stella and Dot store here!
Happy Monday, everyone!

Serious fiance points for Brandon! How sweet!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm not sure whether to be intrigued or grossed out by the grilled cheese burger...but now I'm hungry. :)
Looks like a fun, fun weekend!
I don't know about the actual dance, but I loved the movie Shag. And while the burger looks a little large, I think I could have a bite or two and it would be delicious!
ReplyDeleteAnd, the flowers you received were so pretty! :)
Ahhh!! I've always wanted to ask if you shag, and never got around to it. My family is from Charlotte, and I love to shag dance! Unfortunately no one in KY has a clue what it is. I used to go to SOS every year, fall and spring, but haven't been since Fall 2009. Trying to teach the hubby how to shag, so maybe you'll see us at an SOS in the future! It is the most fun, and I'm so jealous that you get to shag all the time! My aunt and uncle still go to both festivals every year, heck they are at N Myrtle every other weekend. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLove the earrings. They remind me of the ones Emily is wearing on the Bachelorette previews. The J Crew necklace looks great! I'm on the hunt for one now :)
ReplyDeleteLove the earrings! The flowers are gorgeous! xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a great fiance! Your flowers are gorgeous! Looks like a great time!
ReplyDeletelove it! great post =] looks so pretty at the beach & love the earrings!
ReplyDeleteWhat is a shagging club? 'Shag' probably means something totally different there than it does here in England...
ReplyDeletelooks like a wonderful and beautiful weekend!! we are headed to north myrtle beach (my first time!) this week for some fun in the sun :) this post got me so excited!! love your Stella and Dot earrings!
ReplyDeleteLove it! No one ever knows what the shag is and no matter how much I try to explain, they always think I am referencing the British version! And I love that the florist didn't use a little spell check action- at the least the flowers are pretty!
ReplyDeleteHave the earrings- they are the most perfect shade of green!! Love your sunglasses! Who makes them?
ReplyDeletethose earrings are gorgeous! so glad you had a fun weekend :)
ReplyDeleteWould you mind sharing where you got the striped shirt in the parade pick? Love it, looks comfy and classic!
