get {fit}

Raise your hand if your new year's resolution was to get in the gym & eat healthier?
This year, for some reason, I didn't have that resolution (unlike previous years) ...and it's not because I'm already doing it.
Last year at this time, I was preparing for the Miss Charleston pageant.  I was in the gym at least four days a week and was eating small portions & lots of fruits/veggies (eating healthy is really the #1 factor in weight loss).
I felt so good about myself ...not just about the results I was seeing, but I - plain and simple - felt GOOD.
Now... I feel like the nachos I ate for dinner.  Kind of soggy & lazy.

Granted, I still am in the gym four days a week (on my lunch break), but my eating habits are horrible!
I can always count on Pinterest to give me some motivation.

I love this quote...

and of course, what's motivation without seeing a photo of Carrie's super toned legs?

My new year's resolution (a little late) is to clean up my diet & see what kind of difference it makes in how I feel and look.
What are your favorite healthy snacks?
Xo.

  1. I am in this same boat right now. I really try to stick to fruits and veggies, the processed food is really all junk and not healthy for you. Almonds are good to have around too!

  2. Now I feel guilty for eating that bowl of popcorn last night after dinner :) I needed that "pinspiration"!!

  3. Love Pinterest for inspiration! Almonds are a great healthy snack as long as you don't eat too many of them! Also, pb & banana or apple? Or greek yogurt?

  4. ive never made a NYE resolution for getting healthy or going to the gym before.. and it wasnt much of a resolution this year either, just so happens that i looked in the mirror mid-january and decided IVE GOT TO DO SOMETHING!.... ive been keeping healthy snacks in my office for when i get cravings for the vending machine! (apple slices (with a little PB of course), grapes, almonds, and the most filling of all is the 100 cal popcorn bags. i could easily live off of them..

  12. Great post! I am the same way... I feel a trillion times better when I'm eating right. I've been bringing light Babybel cheese as my mid morning snack and a 100 calorie pack of almonds for my afternoon/pre gym snack.

  13. For breakfast or half it for a snack... toasted whole wheat English muffin with almond butter. Almond butter has about the same calories as peanut butter but provides more nutrients! And tastes better, in my opinion.

  14. My hand is definitely raised :) I, too, am still good about working out - but on the weekends especially, cocktails and fried food are suddenly all I want! Great pinterest inspiration! Found your blog last week and I really love it!
