NEW YORK CITY

Hope you haven't forgotten about me!

There's a chance I may fall asleep while creating this post
...it has been a busy, but amazing week.

Let's get right to the NYC photos!

This is right when we left the airport ...my first time in a "yellow" cab!

We stayed at the Double Tree in Times Square. We had an awesome suite ...but we decided that next time, we'd like to stay in a less "touristy" part of the city.  Despite the crowds & honking cars down below, it was very quiet in our room!

The view from one of our windows in the living-area.

Dinner at Koi.  We had unbelievable baked sushi there.  Very tasty & a trendy atmosphere!

...on our walk after dinner

NYC Public Library
Of course, I had to take a picture on the steps since this is where Carrie & Big almost got married!

Rockefeller Center

St. Patrick's Cathedral

Radio City Music Hall

Times Square

Yes, this guy had a green rat on his shoulder & a pink one on his head.

"Gold Man"

I love Junior's cheesecake!

First subway ride of the trip!

 Chelsea Flower District

Lady Liberty!

Ground Zero

Sometimes I walk around with a cat on my head, too.

We made a stop on Bleecker Street for some authentic NY pizza at John's Pizzeria!
Look at all of the name-carvings in the booths!

We may or may not have eaten the whole thing! It was so good!

My favorite stop of the day...

Carrie Bradshaw's house!

Such a pretty street, too.  I'm ready to move in.

We saw the most amazing show on Broadway! Mary Poppins was incredible.
We had second (or third?) row seating ...right smack-dab in the middle!

On Tuesday, we woke up super early and walked down to the Today Show. I made a sign that said, "Just Graduated ...Hire Me!"  If anyone watched (the day that Jacob from American Idol was on), my sign was highlighter pink, surprise surprise.

Then, we walked around in Central Park, hence the workout attire!

Our feet hurt SO bad from all of the walking we had done at this point, so we decided to skip going back to the hotel to shower/change clothes.  We just stayed in these comfy clothes, and honestly ...it was amazing!

Brandon was a very patient boyfriend as I shopped around in Sephora.

But I found this picture on my camera later ...apparently, this is how he really felt!

Inside of St. Patrick's Cathedral. It was breathtaking!

Best lunch of the trip ...Rosa Mexicana!

Before our mexican feast:

After:

I highly recommend this place!

Yankees game! We were 40 minutes late, due to major congestion in the subway system. Miserable! Four subway trains and one taxi cab later,  it was worth the trek :)

We couldn't help it...
Cheese fries!

After the game, we went to the Meatpacking District.
Had to get a picture in Hogs & Heifers!

We decided to skip that bar, even though it seemed awfully entertaining.
Wine & cheesecake at The Standard Hotel was much more our style for the evening...

More views from our room...

We ate breakfast at Toasties each morning. I'm obsessed with their bagels! Our flight was delayed on our last morning in NYC, so we had time to walk there for a bite.  So yummy!

Oh, and pedis in the airport to take care of those aching tootsies!

I wish I could've caught more of our trip on camera! We had an amazing time & I'm so thankful for such a sweet boyf to take me there!

Seriously, I'm ready to go back asap.  I tried to talk him into moving there, but he won't have it.  I'd like to go for a year, then come back to the wonderful Low Country of SC.

Speaking of how great SC is, here's a sneak peak of our long weekend at Fripp Island!

My dress is from Zara - purchased it on 5th Avenue!

PS.  Some of you asked where my graduation dress & necklace are from.

The dress is French Connection. It's a very fine linen material, which is nice for Summer, but bad for wrinkles! I still love it's classic appeal.  I searched for it online, but can only find it in the UK. I bought it at a boutique on King Street called Copper Penny.  Got the necklace from there too. I love the pop of color!  Sorry to be ZERO help, but I don't know who makes the necklace! It doesn't have a name imprinted on the clasp.

Back to normal posts now ...promise.
Love you all!

  11. yay! what a fabulous fabulous trip--he did such a great job in planning it! I adore Rosa Mexicano and love Chelsea too...I think you're spot-on about hoping for a less touristy hotel though. I adore Times Square and all its energy, but my bff lives in SoHo and it completely changed the way I feel about NYC {for the better}! You have to go back again soon :) Hope you're doing well, my love! xoxo {av}

  18. Glad you had such a great time! I agree about the hotel choice, it's a little less crazy when you get out of the Times Square area. Your photos are too cute (esp the one of your bf in Sephora, mine would be the same way!!)

  25. Looks like y'all had such a fun time! My husband and I went to NYC a few years ago and had a day layover there. We were only there for a short amount of time so all we did was see Times Square, and go on a sex and the city bus tour! haha I dragged him along. I saw Carries Doorstep and so many places they filmed. I highly recommend doing it the next time you go! :)

We're actually going back to NYC this winter for Christmas! We'll be there a few days before we go to Buffalo to visit his grandfather. I wrote down some of the restaurants you went to, thanks!
