I am so sad because one of my favorite places in Charleston is closing!
Alright, as of yesterday at 5pm, it is CLOSED.
I could eat at Tacone everyday, but if I did, I wouldn't be able to fit in any of my clothes.
It's the best comfort food -wraps, paninis, soup, salads, smoothies, etc.
Brandon and I are known there as the "Chicka-Boom Couple" because we both eat that particular panini each and every time we go there, which used to be a lot when he worked downtown. (Tacone is on King Street)
Apparently their business hasn't been enough, so the doors are being closed.
I'm literally devastated.
So, Brandon and I, being the true "Chicka-Boom Couple" that we are, had to go in and eat there for their final day. Brandon went to work early so that he could take an extra long lunch break and drive the 1-hr round trip to Tacone & back.
By the way, this is what a Chicka-Boom looks like. You can choose from tons of sides, but we always get the seasoned fries because they have the most amazing seasoning on them. It sets them apart from any french fry my taste buds have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
....and I've met a lot.
Too bad pictures don't communicate the way things smell and taste, because you just wouldn't be able to contain yourself ;)
The best part is that Tacone is known as a "Flavor Bar," so they have an area set up with tons of different sauces that you can scoop into little cups. This is why Tacone and I are such great friends.
I am a "ranch girl," which is definitely a southern thing. I can put that stuff on everything.
Here is my ranch, cilantro ranch, and honey mustard.
Oh, and Brandon's measly little ketchup over there.
Have any of you ever heard of a Tacone? It's a franchise, but this was the only one we had in South Carolina. Oh, maybe they have one in NYC! I must check into this asap.
Here was my OOTD:
Thank you all for the tips of places we should go in NYC! We are so excited and have made notes of your recommendations!
