I got a new lens! Please excuse this photo of me with no makeup and pool-day hair, but this is one of the only ones I have that shows off the new lens. It has a lower f-stop number, so that makes for blurrier backgrounds. You know what this means... get ready for more outfit posts.
Oh, since I wan't really in the business to spend a fortune on my camera (I was still working with the kit lens!), I went with the least expensive upgrade I could. It's the Canon 50mm 1.8 Lens
(I was deciding between that and the 1.4, but after many comparison reviews, I read that the 1.4 probably isn't worth the $275 price difference. Not to say I wouldn't love to have it!). This one seems to be worth every penny so far. If you're in the market for an inexpensive lens, check it out. It's great for landscapes, too.
I just bought a 50mm lens last week! I was in Naples, FL earlier in the week so it was great to take it and test it out in a fun new place!

Look really good!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! I have the 50mm 1.4 and love it, but if my face was as gorgeous as yours, I will have totally went with the 1.8 ;)
ReplyDeleteI have that lens too and I love it! It takes some time getting used to the fixed length but it takes amazing photos! :)
ReplyDeleteI just bought the same lens a few weeks ago, and I've been loving it. Definitely worth the $125 price tag.
ReplyDeleteMy 50 mm is the cheapest but BEST purchase I have ever made with my camera. The difference in the photos of people with this lens is incredible!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos!

ReplyDeleteI have the same lens and must not have it on the right settings because my photos are not that gorg! Do you us manual? If so, what settings do you have your camera on? Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteWe just went on vacation with a couple of friends that had just bought this lens. I'm definitely getting it!! It does most of the work for you and the pictures turn out incredibly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSuch amazing photos ! I think a great lens is well worth the money :) I love stopping by your blog !
