We had such a busy and fun weekend. The ladies in my office gave Brandon and me a gift certificate to Charleston Cooks, a cooking store where you can also take cooking classes or attend demonstrations.
There were 12 people in our class. After walking around and learning about each food prep station with the chef, we all had to split up and pick which dish we wanted to make. Brandon and I chose the steaks with pimento cheese crust. Truthfully, I just wanted to learn how they made their pimento cheese. It was mouth watering. We went the next day to buy all the ingredients. In our fridge, there is currently a mixing bowl twice the size of my head ...full of homemade pimento cheese.
After we worked hard in the kitchen, we got to eat! With wine, of course.
We had chilled tomato basil bisque with rosemary olive oil pita crackers - vegetable aromatic rice - brie, bacon, and grits fritters - steaks with pimento cheese crust - and for dessert, lemon orange chiffon cake with a buttercream drizzle.
On Saturday, we drove up to Lake Murray for a couples shower. My Maid of Honor, Ryan, is getting married in October! Here are all the ladies with the future Mr. and Mrs.
After church on Sunday, we went to a church picnic at an old, historic home on John's Island. The home was built by J.C Penney. They even had a bowling alley at the house!
Sunday night was spent finishing thank you notes. FINALLY caught up on our thank yous!
...and Winston... yeah, he was no help.
Here's a little motivation for your work week.
The rest of the wedding photos will be up tomorrow!
Happy Monday.
