Instead of the usual weekend post, I wanted to share some devastating news. I'm sorry to be gloom & doom on the blog ...that's normally not the theme around these parts.
My brother's home for the last 10 years was burned to the ground on Saturday evening, along with about 110 other homes in his condominium complex. Miraculously, no injuries were reported. Everyone was able to escape to safety, except many precious pets.
Here is a photo from a nearby road.
The next day. 110 homes in 26 buildings ...nothing but ashes.
Please join me in keeping the residents of these homes in your prayers as they begin their long road to recovery!
Wow how devastating! I will definitely keep this in my prayers this week.
ReplyDeletewow this is so sad..praying for ur family and those that lost pets!

Oh, I can't find the right words - BUT want to wish your brother the best and enough strongness for the hard time. It sometimes REALLY seems to be at the end, but then a little or x-small light glimmer/glint of hope and luck RETURN!
ReplyDeleteAll the best to all of the families and people who loose their homes at this dramatic place! - Hope and luck to all of them!
Bye,
NIKA

ReplyDeleteOh, How awful, I'll definitely be keeping all of those affected in my thoughts, x
ReplyDeleteMegan, do you know what caused the fire? I live in a condo and it's one of my biggest worries, fire traveling from unit to unit uncontrollably...Regardless I wish your brother (& all of his neighbors) peace and patience in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteI live in Charlotte and this was on our morning news and was a teaser for our afternoon news... Feel so horrible for everyone, epsecially your brother and all of those pets :(
ReplyDeleteThis is devastating! I am so sorry to hear about all of those residents that lost everything, not to mention their precious pets. Sending much needed prayers their way!

ReplyDeleteXo Danai
so sad :( I hate seeing things like this, but especially in our own "hometowns". Praying for Mark and all of the other residents!
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible. Do they know what caused the fire? So very unfortunate, but so amazing that not one person in those 110 homes was hurt. That's a blessing. My prayers go out to the families as they rebuild and recover. www.styleoyster.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh how awful! So happy to hear that your brother is safe. Keeping them all in my thoughts and prayers
ReplyDeleteFire is so devastating, but how miraculous that no one was killed (minus the pets, that's extremely sad). One of my pet peeves, especially on Mondays, is when people complain, complain, complain their morning away on FB. They could have it so much worse than having to just go to work, raise a baby, etc. We do need to count our blessings!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry.
ReplyDeletePrayers for those who lost their homes and their pets! So sad!
ReplyDeletePrayers for you and your family!

ReplyDeleteSo sad. I hope things get back to normal for your brother and everyone else affected soon!
ReplyDeleteThis is so horrible! I would gladly lose all of my possessions in place of my cat - she's been my bff for 5 years! Best of luck to these families, I can't believe how many condos were affected! I'm sure/hope the community will do a lot to help them.
