Wedding Wednesday: How I asked my bridesmaids!

When it rains in Charleston, it FLOODS.  Downtown, that is.
My morning started off at 7:45am, trucking it through knee high rain puddles.  Picked up coffee for an important meeting.  Delivered coffee.  Soaked.  I literally walked through almost knee high water as I crossed the road.  I need rain boots.  They could've come in major handy this morning.  At least I didn't get sprayed by a car speeding through a puddle.  Hey-- I'm awake now!!

Sorry you didn't see a post from me yesterday.  I didn't get home last night until after 10pm and my bed was calling my name.
Anyway...  today I get to share with you all how I asked my bridesmaids!

I've been searching for the perfect way to ask my maids since I got engaged in November.  I knew I didn't want to just send a card, but I wanted to send something that would be easy to mail and something really cute, to set the tone for a super fun year with my bridal party.

One idea that kept catching my eye was this:

But sending a wine bottle in the mail kind of made me nervous -although it would've been really neat!  Can you imagine receiving a bottle of wine in the mail, unexpected?  It would be a sweet keepsake, too.  But, not so easy to mail - fragile, heavy, etc.  I kept looking for more ideas.

I noticed a photo of monogrammed seersucker koozies on Pinterest, which I obviously pinned because, well, what southern girl wouldn't?  Seersucker, yes.  Monogrammed, major yes. And we all have WAY too many koozies than we know what to do with, but always kindly welcome another to the stock.

I then realized that koozies absolutely flow with the cute poem that was placed on the wine bottles.  I searched Etsy for the perfect shop that carried them and found The Monogrammed Monkey.  Tanner, the owner of the shop, is such a doll and did an amazing job on my order.

I took this photo the day I received them in the mail.

...and then put my personal touches on each one.
I used a thick cardboard paper, white computer paper, and pink tulle that I purchased from Michaels.

I was so happy to have found a cute gift that was easy to place into a big envelope and stick in the mail.  I also wrote each bridesmaid a personal note on my stationary to include with the koozie.

The girls received them this past weekend and LOVED them!  I ordered myself one, too.  I mean, how could I not?  They are the cutest things.  I'll be rocking mine all summer long on boat and beach days.

  21. So cute!! What a great way to ask your Bridesmaids... I think you could've pulled off the wine thing, too (give it to them in person, if you can-- another excuse to go to lunch/dinner, lol) -- but this way seems a little more personal & it's something they'll get to keep for a long time!!
