a few loves...

These Emi-Jay 'Pearl' Hair Ties are life changing.  I received these in my red carpet kit from Rembrandt and haven't looked back since.  They don't damage or dent your hair, unlike traditional elastics.

The Shopbop spring event is going on now and I'm really tempted to purchase these Gucci glasses.

I also really love this Diane von Furstenberg Circle Scarf.  I'm all about this blue color for spring.

...and finally, like most everyone else, I'm loving Jennifer Lawrence in Dior.  Really, JLaw in general to tell the truth.
I even thought she looked incredibly glamorous when she fell on the steps!  She blew me away, mostly because of how she is goofy, beautiful, strong willed, funny and sexy all rolled into one.  Not too many people can accomplish that.

That's it for today.  Xo-M

nightmares + our weekend

A couple weeks ago, Megan talked about wedding nightmares.  Many of you probably know what I'm talking about.  I've had a recurring dream where I just cannot get to the altar, or the church, or even in my wedding dress for that matter.  No, I'm not having anxiety or fear about getting married, but I am terribly afraid of something going wrong and causing me to be late for my own wedding.  This is where the dreams come from, I'm sure.
It happened again last night...  It's 3pm and I have no makeup on and my hair isn't fixed.  Half of my bridesmaids are missing.  The wedding is at 5pm.  Four o'clock comes and no progress has been made.  All of our guests are starting to show up to the church, but I'm nowhere near ready.
Nightmare, I tell you.

Speaking of wedding, I was supposed to have my bridal portraits today...  Outside.

Since that's not happening, they've been rescheduled for next week.  I'm so thankful my makeup artist, hair stylist, photographer, and venue were so flexible and willing to change the date.

But, rainy days aside, we had a pretty one yesterday.  Brandon and I went to the beach and soaked in a little salt and sunshine into our veins.

We went to a hockey game on Saturday night with dear friends and had the best time.
Hockey is obviously not the best sport in South Carolina and I definitely wouldn't call us "fans," but we love going to one game per season.  "Pink in the Rink" is our favorite night because it benefits the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  The ice, as you can see, is dyed pink and the players wear pink jerseys.  We had a great time.

Hope you all had happy weekends.  Here's a little motivation for your Monday morning.

ghost chair

I really, really like this chair.

It's only $100 on Overstock ..and if you access Overstock through Ebates, you get 2.5% cash back (I'm obsessed with Ebates, btw.).  Of course, there's always the Louis Ghost Chair, which I suprisingly found for only $125 on Amazon.  All I need is one!

Wedding Wednesday {Hair + Makeup}

I have my wedding dress in my own possession!  Man that's a good feeling.  Everything is prepped and tucked and ready to go for my bridal portraits on Monday.  Everything except the weather, which is calling for 60% chance of rain.  Prayers are being said.
Since I have my hair and makeup trial on Monday before the portraits, I thought this would be a good time to share my inspiration.
This is what I was thinking for makeup.
...and for hair.
Oh, and our wedding invitations are in!
What is it about that piece of paper that makes this all seem so real?  You don't get to see them until our guests do, but here's a sneak peek.

How pretty is this Reeves Antique Large Brass/Glass Pendant?
She's a restoration style globe pendant and I cannot get enough of her.

...and here are some similar styles.

Don't you agree?  She's great, but $660 a pop.  Look at her fraternal twin, who currently lives at Lowe's.

...and for only $118, she might just be prettier.

Just as I was about to publish this post, look what I found.
...and for only $149 at Pottery Barn.

oh yeah...

Sorry I haven't responded to the comments and emails asking about the dress I wore to my bridal shower.  I am so not good at replying to emails.  Working on this.

You didn't even see the best part, though.  It has a bit of a V'd back.

Just for reference... because I know many of you will ask.  :)  I usually wear between a 2 and 4, but in this dress, I ordered a 4 and am very pleased with the fit.  If you're a size 8 or 12, lucky for you.  You can buy this dress for $120 OFF its original price of $298 by clicking here.  For all of you other sizes, I've only been able to find this dress still available at Saks

I may have shared this before, but I think this is something we could all read each day.  Right?

happy happy

Brandon and I had our first date on Valentine's Day ...nine years ago.  We always keep this "holiday" really low key and usually enjoy a nice dinner together, exchange cards, and call it good.  I hope you all enjoy this day and use it simply as a sweet reminder to appreciate those you love most.
Blessings! xx

Decision Time!

Brandon and I have been casually looking around at different king beds for when we get married.  We know that, eventually, we will purchase a complete bedroom suite with a wooden bed.  But for now, our sights are on a simple upholstered bed to mix with furniture we already own.

I'm slightly obsessed with Joss & Main.  Basically, I drool at the website everyday.  They have great upholstered beds at a pretty awesome price.  I've found a few on there that I think would work well.  Here's where you come in... I want your help!  We may end up waiting and not purchasing either of these, but I'm curious to know your preference.

Option #1:
Option #2:
Here are some inspiration photos.
(We will use all white bedding and have light walls.)

So what do you think ....option #1 or option #2?
