I've featured her work on the blog before, but it's worth revisiting ...trust me.

spring {lust list}

We've been so blessed in Charleston with the most mild winter imaginable.  I sort of laugh inside when I say, "winter" because the weather has been in the 70s many days throughout this past week --hardly "winter" at all. I cringe when I think about a cold front blowing through --just want this spring weather to stay until summertime comes along.  Even though I'm sad that I've only gotten to wear my new red J. Crew stadium trench three times, I'd be more than happy to hang it up until next winter.  

Here are some things I'm lusting over.  Things that need to find their way to my closet come springtime.

Sam Edelman makes some amazing sandals.  The "gigis" are comfortable, affordable & adorable.  I'm in love with so many colors, but these are going to be hard to pass up --talk about a fun print!

...because I'm busy at work.

Hi loves! As most of you know, I work for development in a children's hospital.  We are putting on a "Cares for Kids" Radiothon this week.  Actually, we started it today and it will end on Saturday.  Tomorrow morning, I've got to be at work at 5:45am and will be there until 8pm-ish.  Lots of hard work, but it's all worth it!  

So many restaurants have donated meals to all of those executing the event --so much for my "eating healthy" kick.  Will have to wait 'til Monday.  We've got breakfast, lunch and dinner provided by fantastic local restaurants ....and the Dunkin Donuts trays are absolutely calling my name.  Oops.

Raise your hand if your new year's resolution was to get in the gym & eat healthier? 

This year, for some reason, I didn't have that resolution (unlike previous years) ...and it's not because I'm already doing it.

Last year at this time, I was preparing for the Miss Charleston pageant.  I was in the gym at least four days a week and was eating small portions & lots of fruits/veggies (eating healthy is really the #1 factor in weight loss). 

I felt so good about myself ...not just about the results I was seeing, but I - plain and simple - felt GOOD. 

Now... I feel like the nachos I ate for dinner.  Kind of soggy & lazy. 

Granted, I still am in the gym four days a week (on my lunch break), but my eating habits are horrible! 

I can always count on Pinterest to give me some motivation.

and of course, what's motivation without seeing a photo of Carrie's super toned legs? 

My new year's resolution (a little late) is to clean up my diet & see what kind of difference it makes in how I feel and look.

P.S.  Thank you all for the advice on my last post!  We have picked our ceremony location and reception venue -will share when everything is set in stone.  Found out that one of my readers is the bride in the last pic I shared at Daniel Island! So neat!

Wedding Help! (my weekend)

Right now, we are having the hardest time deciding on a church and reception venue.  So we decided to use last weekend as a time to go about town and look at a few more places. 

We've decided to get married in Charleston.  

We've narrowed it down to two churches: 

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is our favorite, but you can get married no later than 2pm there.

1,2 via - 3 via

...or St. Mary the Annunciation, the oldest catholic church in the Carolinas and Georgia.

We don't love the looks of this church as much, but at St. Mary's, we can have a late afternoon or evening wedding, which is our preference.

So which one?  The church we think is breathtaking, but will only allow us to get married at 2pm?  Or the church that is full of rich history that will allow us to get married up until 6pm, which is what we would love?  We are willing to sacrifice the better time for the better church, but then again, they are both gorgeous!  What do y'all think?

This venue has that swanky, southern sophistication.  The other one (Pavilion) has gorgeous views and is a better location in relation to the churches. 

They are both right around the same price.
